Friday morning, the Maulers took on the River City Jaguars.  This game was pretty much different team, same scenario.  The Maulers opened up the game with 2 goals in the first 1:15 of the first period.  Tyler Mort and Tyler Marek both scored and then Martin Dubec scored a late goal in the period to go into the first intermission 3-0.  The second period opened up with Doug Raymond scoring 2 goals within 4 minutes of each other before River City got on the board with a goal at the 16:38 mark.  Martin Dubec got his 4th goal in two games to end the match at 6-1.  Randy Japchen was in goal for both the Thursday and Friday games and stopped 41 shots to get the wins and NORPAC defensive player of the week.

Friday morning, the Maulers took on the Seattle Totems.  Seattle started the tournament 26-4 at the top of the Pacific Division.  This was a great defensive battle and the Maulers got the only goal of the game, courtesy of Zak Aubul.   Andy Dicristofaro stopped all 24 shots on goal to get the win.

This weekend, the Maulers will travel to Cody to take on the Yellowstone Quake.  The Quake are 2 games behind the Maulers in the standings and are nipping at our heels.  These teams have met 5 times this year, with the Maulers winning 3 of the games.  This should be an exciting game with huge implications.  You can watch it for free on Maulers Live Video.

Saturday, the Maulers travel to Bozeman to face the Icedogs.  The Dogs are fighting the Bulls for the last playoff spot in the division and are going to come out tough against your Maulers.  The Maulers have played the Icedogs 6 times this year and won 5 of them.  But, don't think that this is a for sure win.  The last time these teams played, it took a double over time goal by Tyler Marek to get the win.  This game will also be broadcasted for free on Maulers web TV.

Well, that about wraps it up for this week.  Hopefully I took care of the skimmers and those that love the facts.   All I can say now is T-minus 10 days until your Maulers are back home at the Glacier Ice Rink!  It has been WAY too long and I am hungry for some Maulers hockey!

Sincerely,
Michael Burks
