The Missoula Maulers Junior "A" Hockey Team has been involved with the Montana Food Bank Network for over 3 years now. With the great work performed throughout the State by this organization, our partnership was a no brainer. Montana Food Bank Network staff runs the 50/50 at specified Maulers home games and one game each year we host a food drive to help replenish food supplies. Missoula Maulers players personally deliver the food generated, help stock the shelves and perform various other activities while volunteering at the warehouse.
The Missoula Maulers hosted their first ever Teddy Bear Toss this past 2010-11 season and it was a huge success! Fans brought in new and used teddy bears and the Maulers organization supplied the rest for this special game. As soon as the Maulers scored a goal after the first intermission everyone threw their bear/s on the ice. The Missoula Maulers players personally delivered them the next week to non-profits throughout Missoula. Organizations included but not limited to: Salvation Army, Watson's Childrens Center, Ronald McDonald House, Big Brothers & Big Sisters.
 The Missoula Maulers are focused on not only providing a fun, family-friendly entertainment throughout their season; they also know of the importance of giving back to the community. That's why when we got in touch with Habitat for Humanity in Missoula it gave us a great avenue to help make this a reality. Missoula Maulers players who were available for our build day participated in helping one needy family achieve their dream of home ownership! Slash even swung by to help entertain the other workers.
The Missoula Maulers and the Missoula Family YMCA have been strong partners since the teams creation back in 2007. With the YMCA's mission statement and community oriented iniatives co-inciding with the Maulers, this partnership was inevitable. The past 3 seasons the Missoula Maulers have used the YMCA as their training facility. Whether at the Glacier Ice Rink or YMCA, the players have helped teach/coach hockey on and off the ice. Slash has also become a mainstay at YMCA events, both internally and off-site.
SLASH Appearances
The Missoula Maulers mascot SLASH has taken Missoula by storm since the teams creation in 2007. Whether it is entertaining the fans at Maulers home games, creating special birthday moments at or away from the rink, or attending special events to help raise awareness, SLASH goes above and beyond to involve himself in the community. Below are just some of the many appearances SLASH has attended over the years.
